Why isn't Clayman on the list?

Well it certainly would be a major downer without the A man on campus. He mentioned to me that he may have an opportunity to go overseas this summer so for now it's still too soon to commit. I'm hoping we see him.

Btw, we're going to go ahead and cap the field at 48 in order to get started with game planning - so a reminder to everyone on the list to please be sure to get your deposits sent in before April 1. If there are spots available at that time we may extend it out for a bit in order to achieve #'s to round out foursomes.

If we already sent our deposits to we get some kind of award? I was thinking a trophy or some such or not getting stuck in a cabin with Cory.

Eric,

Planning question for you.  I see on the website that the format is 54 hole Net Better Ball.  Are we playing 18 each day, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or are we playing 36 one of the first two days with Sunday being optional?  Thanks.

Cory:

Everyone's entry fee includes all day golf on each of the three days (Fri-Sun), however the tournament begins Friday at 1:00, playing 27 holes. Saturday we'll get started after breakfast playing another 27 holes to finish the 5th Major. Folks will obviously want to have a look at the new course and can take the afternoon to do so or play more golf and/or choose to do so on Sunday. Plan to play a ton of golf!

Kalen, Greg: Awesome! Well done.

If anybody is on the fence, let me be the guy that pushes you.  Eric does an AMAZING job, and we had the best time - truly great folks, great golf, and a great vacation.

Dan,

Thanks. You're too kind. Rounding up a bunch of golf nuts for a long weekend in Nebraska gives me a huge buzz. Having said that, for me, meeting people like you and Laura, knowing how far you traveled last year to make it out there and then seeing how genuinely happy you both were to be there, there really isn't anything more rewarding than that.

The response leading up to this one has been nothing short of amazing. I do love the planning part but despise the 'game day'working part - I want to play and (attempt to) compete, but mostly unwind and have fun like everyone else. That's where our friend and PGA Professional Greg Dennis comes in. [Thank God!] With the group being finalized over the next few weeks he's already begun making preparations to ensure that the 2012 5th Major runs as smooth as a baby's bottom. No odd #'s and half teams (I hope!) this year, Sir! We'll have a proper field of 24 teams (and maybe just a few more ;) ) looking to have their names etched on the Nicklaus Trophy. Like Messrs Saltzman and Hendren did last July:

3 more added to the list in the last 24 hours. Welcome Mike Hamilton, Anonymous and Anonymous' partner.

Eric,

For those of us who don't have a partner yet, do you need our handicaps, or does it matter?

Eric,

Can you pair me with Mike Chirstensen?  It would really mean a lot to me.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Sure, I guess. That would free me up to play with JNC, though that means I'd have to walk every round. On second thought...

I don't drink beer. Where is the closest liquor store? I need to stock up before hand. :D

So psyched for this event The hardest part is trying to narrow down the options on the way to Dismal. Thinking Wildhorse and Awarii right now since we're coming from the east.
Anybody else going to be in that neck of the woods earlier in the week?
