Gozzer Ranch has a really good one. Hopefully Andy Troeger will see this thread and post his picture.

Shivas,

Is that # 13 at Sand Hills ?

If so, was it "photo shopped"

Years ago, I seem to recall a lone tree or some scraggly bush preventing it from being a skyline green

Maybe the prevailing winds took care of it....   :o

Same here...

It has two really terrific infinity greens, but can't think of any skyline greens.

Unless #2 was a skyline green, but I don't remember it being one

OK Pat, here are some photos of Arcola's skyline green:

Bill,

Thanks for the photo's.  Haven't played Arcola since this change was made.  Do you have any other recent shots of the course?
From what I can tell there seems to have been some nice work there.

Let me find my notes from my round and I will let you know. I remember Andy and I commenting that it was a good skyline green walking up to it, but I will let you know.

Jim,

I think there are two that you could be thinking of, but aren't skyline greens.  Was it one of these?

What about no. 7 at Old Macdonald?

And what are the characteristics of a skyline greeen? I thought it had to be an uphill hole where the green is not visible from the tee nor fairway.

Kalen - those pictures are great.  Do you have more you could share or did you do a photo tour of Gozzer Ranch?  Thanks!

Mike,
I think you copied the wrong code, copy and paste the img code, don't forget the brackets when putting it on GCA.
This should work. Nice green

Mike,
Merry Christmas.

I love them but can't say I've seen a lot of these greens, and I can't remember seeing any that use anything other than the skyline to 'confuse' the issue.

Is that enough?

Mark,

All good holes, but they pale in comparison to the 4th at Arcola, which is a skyline from the tee, to the DZ to just short of!the green.

And, the view from the green is spectacular.

The small, sloped, well bunkered green, played into a good breeze makes the hole simply spectacular.

The funny thing is that I lobbied for a dozen or more years until the new superintendent recognized the hole's potential and cut down the background trees.   Prior Boards and Green Committees didn't have a clue.

Mark,

For your viewing pleasure.

Nothing compares to this, from tee to green

From the tee

From the fairway, average approach shot to the green

Just short of green

On the green looking west. Sorry, they just aerated yesterday...

Looking down at the left side of green

On the green looking back at tee:

From right side of green

Looking down on left side of green

After playing the hole, a quick glance at Manhattan

One of the best is Mike Young's at Cateechee, even though Mike Young agrees with his own self and me.

I'd have to mention Bandon Dunes' 16th as an excellent example along with Pacific Dunes' 13th and Old Mac's 7th (I think already mentioned with a photo).

Cheers

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a picture from the fairway approach, but the 10th at Cornerstone (Norman design in Colorado) is a fantastic skyline green with 80+ mile vistas over the valley where Montrose sits to the San Juan Mountains. I believe you may be able to see Wilson Peak, which is the mountain on the Coors can.
