The best view in golf

What is your favorite? I'll take No 7 tee box at PB.Surrounded by water with a nice elevation and a view down the 18th. Its also a great place to be at night until the sprinklers come on. I love the 18th tee at TOC also.

The 12th tee at Arcadia Bluffs is pretty nice.  I'm sure there are better views at a ton of courses I have yet to get to, but in terms of courses I've played, it's one of the prettiest.

My favorite view is probably #9 tee or #11 tee at Stone Eagle.

Its always a personal opinion that has emotion attached on this one.  I can say without a shadow of doubt that for me it is from the back of the 12th green at North Berwick looking back towards Fidra in the evening time.  Closely followed by the 14th tee looking back over the same view with the 13th in the foreground.

Other great views in my head are the 4th tee at RCD, 15th at CPC, 17th at CPC.

The view on our new 10th at Renaissance will capture a fair bit of attention in a few years.
2011 highlights- Royal Aberdeen, Loch Lomond, Moray Old, NGLA (always a pleasure), Muirfield Village, Saucon Valley, watching the new holes coming along at The Renaissance Club.

#16 at Port Royal, Bermuda

This doesn't do it justice because you can't see the 100 ft cliff you're standing on or the huge fort by the 15th tee...but it gives you the idea...

My screen saver is a picture off the back porch at Dismal River.  That view is a changing.

Several that are very fresh in my mind right now....number seven tee at Kingsley..
Numer One tee at Crystal Downs and Number eight green at Crystal looking back across the plains with greens four, sex and eight all lined up in a straight line.......
Mr Devries had to point this out to me..pretty darn cool feature though. ;D

We will be able to see the finish of the new Doak course.  The 18th green will be some 1000 yds away but that is not much in the scale of the region.

Good one Kyle!

Also, from the clubhouse at NGLA with a Southside in hand!

I think the best view is from the 17th tee at National, down past the green and along the shore of Peconic Bay.

The best view on one of my courses is from the back tee of the 5th at Cape Kidnappers ... I have never come close to a picture that captures the scale of the view down the ravine and out toward the ocean.

My favorite is the firepit at Dismal.  And this came about prior to the new course being built.  Upon completion, that view will include the new Dismal II.

Also, I was in stunned awe having drinks on the back porch of The National overlooking the 18th fairway a few weeks ago.  It could be that I usually don't drink and I had two Southsides...or...it could be the view is truly that good.  Who knows?

JK..
Where have I been , I had no idea that Dismal was building another 18...let alone that Mr Doak was involved..good move for them .
Another reason to go back to Ballyneal and Sand Hills ;)

Although I have to say after my first exposure to Crystal Donws this weekend I am still trying to find out ways and reasons  to return......
What a treat...every hole is brilliant, number 10/11 greens perhaps a little severe for modern day green speeds but wow..whta a place to play.
So may great holes...I will try and post pictures of Kings;ey and Crystal Downs tomorrow.

Yea, we were trying to keep it on the down low then Judge Lavin spilled the beans.  I am glad that the word is starting to get out.

It's hard to beat sitting on the bench on 4 at Ballyneal and standing on the 17th tee at Kapaula.

That view from the firepit at Dismal is incredibly beautiful, but the view from the upper tee on 18 of the Nicklaus course is even more so, in my opinion.

Still, the best view in golf I've seen is when walking from 16 green over to 17 tee at Pennard, in Wales. Just an incredibly beautiful meeting of land and sea. I'll never forget the feeling, standing there taking it all in. I was so reluctant to let go of that view and the moment that I literally walked up the 17th fairway backwards!
