Paramount
Somerset Hills
Friars Head
Royal Dornoch (5X, but who's counting and I don't remember where they started or if they ever ended!)
Castle Stuart
Brora
Nairn
Moray Old
Royal Aberdeen
Trump Scotland (3x)

Like Simon Holt, I was quite impressed with Trump Scotland. Martin Hawtree succeeded on so many levels.

Next Ten:

Atlantic City Country Club
Hackensack (Hickories)
Essex Country Club
The Country Club Composite
Cabot Links
Shinnecock
Swinley Forest
Sunningdale Old & New
Queenwood
Golf Club Mennagio Cadenabbia/ Villa D'Este......haven't decided which to play for our Anniversary round  ;D

Out of curiosity, how are you planning to play TCC Composite? What tournament will be there before the US Am?

Literally 10 minutes from my office! Did you drive in to town and eat at the Gondola afterwards?

I played it three weeks ago in a member/guest.  The club plays it in some of their tournaments and likely more this year with the event on the horizon.  With the new tees it is a very difficult set up.

No, I didnt know to do so.  As I mentioned this was the final day of a pretty busy week of work/golf.  So I drove in late on a Thursday night (got to the hotel at about 11:30pm) was up early and the first one off the first tee at Bear Trace.  Quickly around and on my way back to SC.

Sorry I didnt know to call anyway.  I was figuring when I posted this that I would get a couple "You were that close and didnt call" comments.  This week was one of those great combination work/golf week that had a lot of golf, and quite a bit of it was planned/arranged by a business associate so I didnt have control over some of it.

What do you do in Crossville?  I learned that there is a plant that makes mirrors for cars, but other than that I dont know much about what is in Crossville.  That old stone building/tower that I think is a museum was pretty cool looking and looked worth a visit if I wasnt in a hurry to get out of town.

How did you like the Dye course at French Lick?  I'm planning on going down there this fall but not sure if I want to swing the extra cash for the Dye or just play the Ross course.

El Turberon,

No worries pal, just noting that I work very near that golf course. The Gondola Restaurant is a favorite for golfers visiting the Golf Capital. ;D

That mirror plant you mentioned is one of the larger employers in town. My company leases one of their buildings to them. Also, if you're talking about the stone building with the clock tower on Main St, that is the county courthouse.

What'd you think of Bear Trace? Mac Plumart is coming up this weekend and I thought about taking him to play there but opted for Stonehenge instead.

Played Stonehenge back in April of 1997 so a few memories have dimmed, but I remember that being a good course as well.  The Bear Trace was good, but as with probably everything in this part of the country this time of year was a little soft in several places.  The greens were rolling pretty good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the course.  It seemed to be one of the better Bear Trace courses I have played.  Not knowing anything about what Stonehenge is like now days it would be hard to say.  But I am sure you will be good with Stonehenge.

The one in your general area that absolutely took my by surprise and blew me away was Foxland Harbor G & CC in Gallatin.  I didnt really know much at all about it, and was amazed by the conditioning (firm and fast almost everywhere) and the layout had some very good holes.  I know it was originally going to be fully private, and it sounds like it is close to being back where it needs to be, but I think for a little while yet you might still be able to get out there if you are not a member.

Hope the two of you have fun.
