I was looking at Long Island on Bing Map's "Bird's Eye View" and it looked to me as if Shinnecock Hills may have a par 3 or chip-and-putt course on the southeast portion of their property.

Does anyone have any idea of what I was looking at?

You were indeed looking at a par 3 course. I believe the course was opened in the last 10 years.

It's known as the wee course and is a 9 hole par three with holes from about 70 yds. to about 110 yds. It is on rolling land that was once part of the original course just north of Rte. 27. It's where the kids learn the game. For adults, it's the best place to work on the wedge game. Great addition.
