GCA's Best Threads: For the (relative) newcomers
« on: July 21, 2011, 12:43:28 AM »
Reading Garland and Kalen's Grudge Match thread sent me to the original which took place at Wine Valley a couple years ago. I read it and enjoyed it, but besides the fact that it featured a stunning golf course, it was just an entertaining read.

We've all used the search function, and while it can be useful it certainly has its limitations. For instance, typing "best threads" doesn't exactly find the best ones. Maybe this thread could be a place where those who have been on the site for years could post their favorites, be they more architectural or otherwise (within reason of course).

Just put PPallotta in the search box.
Ask not what GolfClubAtlas can do for you; ask what you can do for GolfClubAtlas.

The thread with the guy at Pebble who played with his Pet Rabbit is an absolute must read for any new GCA'er.

I don't think I've ever laughed harder!!  :D

I searched for that last week to show my buddy and the photo links are down now. Its hard to do that story justice with out the on-course rabbit pics.

The PGA Show GCA Dinner/Get together thread from about 6-7 years ago is the single most awkward, yet hilarious, thread I've ever read on GCA. I'm still trying to figure out who drank all the red wine... ;)

I've been on GCA for several years, but had never read the rabbit story.  That is some funny, yet weird wacky stuff!  Made my day.

The pictures are gone now (alas; use your imagination), but Dick Daley's thread about Dannebrog GC is worth remembering:

The Ben Cox 155 should be a must read for all.

Dick Daley,

You are a new hero of mine.
