I love it...I played the British Amateur there in 1997 and couldn't reach the 11th green with a driver and I'm certain there's a new tee behind the one I played. 14 however was a 2 iron and a chip 6 iron to 3 feet. British Open Thursday is my favorite TV day of the year...

If they stick to the back tees there is one super long par 3 as 3 and 11 play in opposite directions. Forecast is breezy all week but still damp.

Jim the green on 14 has been pushed back about 80 yards since 1997.

7 and 11 would be only shortened for a north easterly.

Wasn't the 15th tee over there somewhere? Memory is not great 14 years on...

The short clips I've seen sure do look green...still a blast to watch the guys play links in the wind.

Should make things rather interesting, perhaps enjoyable too.

I'm aiming for the rear of the third green on Thursday and Friday when McIlroy comes through, as good a place as any to meet up. Three is the RCP marshals hole as well.

My tip: Look for his parents! When Wiesy played the men's event in western PA, I accidentally ended up next to her mom, by a par 3 green exit. She came right over, looked exhausted. Man she's tall.

Jim, I prefer Friday, my annual ritual is to pound a large pizza while enjoying the play.

Watching the first round of the Open...don't think there is a better way to fill in time on a 16-hour flight! Fingers crossed it's going to televised on Air New Zealand!

Today is meant to be a north westerly, not sure I've ever experienced that before. At Sandwich that's roughly downwind on 1 and against on 18.
The rest of the week is breezy and prevailing winds.
