In the hopes that crass commercialism is not frowned upon here, and in the service of students of golf course architecture, I am thrilled to announce that as of receiving delivery today from the printer, the expanded edition of "Discovering Donald Ross' is now available in hardcover.

The book has been published by Duck Pond Press and includes a new, 16-page "Postscript-2011" covering the last decade in Ross restoration and a lot of great new color images of clubs previously not discussed, plus an extended account of the Coore-Crenshaw work at Pinehurst No. 2.

We're ironing out the details of Web site ordering. For now, the book is best secured by emailing me and we'll arrange shipment.

List price is $65, hardcover. Would be happy to personalize copies. And also to arrange bulk orders to clubs.

Right now, I only have the original.

Anyone with the original will need to determine for themselves whether the additional information, pictures, etc., are worth the $65.   

Personally, knowing the extensive detail of the original makes me confident that the new material will be worth the outlay.
