Good friend and fellow GCAer Tim Bert has launched a blog dedicated to the Kingsley Club. Definitely worth a bookmark. Tim, I look forward to the photo tours and stories over the coming months and years.

When exactly is the course open and suitable for play with dry ground and shirt sleeve weather?  I'm only 500 miles away and ready to roll.

It was perfect right after 4th of July, played very firm.  We played Crystal Downs after Kingsley and you could really see the influences on the Kingsley course, starting with the monster false front at #1.

JK,

The course is always dry. It sits on a rediculous amount of sand. Come on up! I'd say in a couple weeks it'll be awesome.

Thanks everyone.  It will probably be a couple of months before most of you get to see much material that looks "fresh."  I'm going to build out the course tour section first, which will largely be my Kingsley thread comments and photos posted on that site, along with some of Mike D's comments on the holes.  So nothing really new at first, though there might be some additional tidbits in there when I'm feeling creative.

Once I have a trip or two under my belt, there will be ongoing commentary and stories as well as updated photos.

I'm hopeful that I will be able to supplement my posts with a healthy dose of guest blogs on a range of topics from Kingsley trip anecdotes to favorite hole descriptions to whatever else people would like to contribute.  I've already had a few offers to contribute, which I really appreciate!

Mike D - I'm going to need your support to get the "Architect's Corner" blog section rolling and also your help to get Dan on board with the "Maintenance Meld" blog section.  Content like that might actually drive some traffic to the site!

Nice idea, Tim.

Any truth to rumors that you're developing your own version of Shotlink and will be keeping the site updated with stats and charts showing where your shots end up?

That is one of the coolest ideas I've heard.  Let me know if you can program it for me.

 8) Tim,

I know this is rather old school, but... take hole plan views and mark an x were you've played to with a "club note" and scan em... for a poor man's shotlink..

Now have you gotten a National Membership?

p.s. we had snow at our cottage on Blue Lake EEN of traverse City a week or so ago...  i assume the ice is off the lakes now...

This is as TRUE as my shoes.

Tim,

I think this is a fantastic idea and I greatly look forward to reading it.  Your photo thread is still a once a month indulgence for me.  I can't wait to see what more you can bring to your site.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

The intersection of those passionate about golf course architecture and TOOL is a small universe. Well done on the identification!
