For me its:

Bethpage Black - 400+ rounds are simply not enough
Cypress Point and Pine Valley - even having the privelege to be able to walk those courses once without ever having played them would be good enough for me
San Francisco Golf Club - Sublime subtlety
Merrick Road Park Golf Course - Built on a garbage dump of reclaimed land this Nassau County public course is the first place I ever played golf. The joy of remembrance of a first love brought back for one last kiss...

All 18 holes of our course are shaped now, and maybe 13 or 14 of the Coore and Crenshaw course, so I am not speculating anymore -- I am certain it's going to be a special place.

I am pretty confident that I will be able to go back there in December or January and have a hit around all 18 holes on our course, barring some unforeseen delay.  The real opening for the two courses is targeted for the late fall of 2012.

Tom, have you and Bill Coore thought/talked about a composite course that might come out of your efforts there?

Very tough call and so limiting that I have to take into account the club's history etc more than usual.

CPC
NGLA
Ballyneal
N Berwick
Myopia

I probably would have had Apache Stronghold in there if the club had a tradtion like NGLA's or some such thing.

I would die a very, very happy man if this wee list was complete at the end of the day. Better get started, time's slipping away!

NGLA,
Cypress Point,
Ballyneal,
Dornoch and
Banff.

My "The 5" is also my so far unplayed list:

CPC
PV
RCD
RMW
Shinnecock

The first four of these were easy to name.  Picking the fifth was tough.  I was very tempted to go for an entirely acronymous list (NGLA would have worked well and was in the mix), I'm fascinated by Oakmont, Sand Hills could have been a modern entry but ended up going with Shinny.

Of courses I have played, it's easier:

Royal Dornoch
Royal St Georges
Prestwick
Yale
Ganton

I haven't included a few (Silloth, Deal) that would have been in with a very strong shout because I'm very confident I'll play them again this year.

John M - great to see Silloth in that list.  We'll sort that out next year!
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

Here are my 5, with only RCD having been seen....

Cypress Point - I imagine heaven on earth
Royal County Down - played it 3 years ago and can't get it out of my head.
Royal Dornoch - Perhaps the ultimate pure golf experience
Pine Valley - A man can dream.
Oakmont - I'm ready to get beat silly.

Tom-
From this post and others you've written recently, it sounds like you think Streamsong is going to be a special place. Do you have a sense for when both courses are likely to be open?

Carl:

I sense a future Dixie Cup in the making.

I looked at this in the following terms. If I only had five rounds left in my life where would I play them:

1. Pine Valley - I have already played it, but it is the most perfect golf course I have ever seen. Also, I would love an opportunity to beat my 74 and shoot par there.
2. Cypress Point - perhaps the most visually stunning and aesthetically beautiful course i have seen pictures of.
3. Pinehurst #2 - i have played it hundreds of times. But it still makes my list because of the amazing look of the renovation and the strategy of the course is outstanding.
4. Royal Countyty Down - I have made four trios to GB&I but never played here.
5. Any of the greats in Australia since I have never been there.

I agree with Tom on High Pointe.  My summers feels so empty lately.

For mine, see here:

Where is Bogey on this thread? ;)
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

5 that I haven't played:

Augusta National
Fishers Island
Camargo
Myopia
Old Sandwich

And given what I've seen on facebook and twitter - those are in fact, the only three courses in the world that he hasn't played.

Jim:

We only kid about it, because of the crossovers in the routing, i.e.:  "Geez, Bill, if you don't build a really good hole for #16, a lot of people are just going to jump over to our seventh hole and keep going on our course."  But then he built a REALLY good hole for #16, and now I've got to worry about people skipping over after our seventh hole and playing his three finishing holes.

Realistically, though, I don't know why you would want to skip back and forth between the courses instead of just playing both of them ... just like making a composite of Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes and Old Macdonald would be a waste of a lot of great holes.

The place where I have seen the lowest percentage of highly ranked courses is in the US.  So - I will go with:

Seminole
Cypress
Newport
San Francisco
White Bear Yacht Club
