My guess is Jeff Shelman will come if he can and he may not have seen this yet.  I'll send him a note.

Ok so Edina Grill wasn't willing to do much for us other than the standard calling ahead that day for priority seating.

I've inquired with Big Bowl in Edina about their private room for 12-15 guys and will let you know what they say. (So far we have 10 RSVPS)

So in the meantime if anyone has another suggestion for a place that would work well for us let me know.

Patrick,

Turns out I'll be in MSP for business that week.  If there's still room, I love to stop by.

Patrick,

Two options that are in the area:

Tavern on France, don't know about a private room, but it's easy to get to, has decent beers and OK bar food

Beajou's Wine Bar, nice wines by the glass and a private room that can accomodate 20

Good suggestions Mark. However Tejas closed in Dec. '09 (and has been replaced by Parasole's Mozza Mia) and sadly Kozy's is closing Mar 26th for good. (To be replaced by Parasole's Pittsburgh Blue in Sept.) I thought about moving it up a week to the 23rd to go to Kozy's one last time.

I thought of Crave as an option and Bar Lurcat could be fun too.

How about Salut -- right next door to the Edina Grille?

Full bar. Great frites, steak sandwiches (etc.).

They set up a space for a family group of mine. Not private, but it worked.

You can tell how often wifey and I eat out.  (though now i remember hearing something about Tejas).   Kozys is shocking to me; we eat there a good deal and it is always packed.

No worries Mark. I'm a big fan of Kozy's too as I worked as a host there a while back and am good friends with the owner who I grew up caddying for.

Can't make it this year guys.....will be in Alabama on the trail.  Would be up for a long overdue golf outing in MN though once the snow melts. Have fun and post copius notes of the evening.  I nominate Dan K and Rick S as scribes.

Bruce --

Sorry ... but what's said at Salut stays at Salut.

Oh, and by the way: "Can't make it this year guys" was sufficient. "[W]ill be in Alabama on the trail" is a bit of salt in our (still frozen) wounds!

Which reminds me of one of our paper's old advertising guys, who specialized in playing golf with car dealers. (You could have seen a picture of him on Page 1 the other day, at a golf outing with Denny Hecker.) EVERY TIME I'd run into him in the elevator, in the frozen dead of a Minnesota winter, he'd chirpily tell me about some damned golf trip he'd just returned from -- to Florida, or Arizona, or even, once, to Cypress Point. Probably the RTJ Trail, too. The bastage!

Dan

P.S. Have a great trip. Don't tell me about it when you return -- but, yes, let's play this year. My best to the girls!

That would be lovely. Hopefully we'll all be able to plan some golf for very soon after we meet.
