Strategic Plans
« on: January 28, 2011, 11:51:20 AM »
I am a CMAA member and the last few years they have been stressing how
each club needs a "Strategic Plan."  This is often created by an outside consulting
firm, but we took it upon ourselves to create our own.  We planned for a year but
it actually took two.  Our membership is very diverse and we assembled the Long
Range Planning committee along those lines.  We ran it through several focus groups
as well.  Here is the finished product...

https://carolinagolfclub.memberstatements.com/Clubs/CSGCarolina/Uploaded/CalendarPics/Web%20Site%20Docs/CGC%20Strategic%20Plan.pdf

It really sums up who we are and will serve not only as a guide for Board decisions but
our most important piece of membership collateral.

Does anyone else have a Strategic Plan they can post?  Does this document make you
want to join the club?  Does it scare you away?  Just looking for some "non-CGC" feedback.
Any comments from the "treehouse" would be appreciated... good or bad!

PS.  You might recognize some of the photos... taken by GCA member Ed Oden.

Really well done, especially the detailed sheet regarding maintenance of the golf course.

I wonder how many clubs would agree to include the line about capital spending on the golf course trumps the non-golf.
