recommendation on Delray Beach golf

hi all,

i am heading to delray beach for presidents weekend and wondered if anybody had any recommendations of places to play in the area?

I know there is the PGA resort, does anybody have any thoughts on which are the best courses to play there? or if there are any others that are good value and accessible?

Have a couple of beers and catch some sporting event at Boston's on the Beach , the breakfast next door is quite good also

At PGA the Champions Course is the best at the resort, but it isn't easy....you might get on Breaker West with a nice phone call , its fun 

some great privates within 25 minutes ....Seminole ....McArthur .....Pine Tree

In the public arena, try Roy Case's Park Ridge  GC in nearby Lake Worth. It's a "brownfield" course built on a former landfill with a 6-6-6 routing,no housing and elevation unusual for this area of Florida.

The Delray muni is definitely worth playing.  I played over Christmas break,  nothing will blow you a way, but it's just a great old fashioned muni, with plenty of challenge from the right tees. It was $55, its a little rough around the edges conditionwise, but the greens were in good shape and the rangers kept it moving at a 4 hour pace.  The range balls were bad.  They don't let you walk in the morning.  They say it's a Ross course, i assume it is, I don't have the card in front of me so I can't remember the year.  It's in brad's book on Ross.  Catch a band at Bostons on the beach after.

If you can get on Delray Dunes, it's out of this world.

Ross' Deerfield Beach GC must be in the bottom 10% of his courses. Very unmemorable to me.Once was enough. Park Ridge is a unique, fun course. I'd play there  over Deerfield Beach. I won't return to DB. It's boring.
