Chicago 2nd Annual GCA Dinner - NEW DATE - Tuesday 2/15/11

Fellow Board Members,

Jack Crisham and I would like to invite you to the 2nd annual GCA Chicagoland Dinner on February 2, 2011.

Dinner will be held at the Erie Cafe, 536 W. Erie St., Chicago, as it was last year. We will plan to meet at 6 pm. The Erie Cafe is wine friendly and will allow us to bring wine for a reasonable corkage fee.

I have asked fellow board member Dan Moore to speak to the group. Dan is working on a book on the earliest courses in the US and has done extensive research on a number of courses in Chicago. He mentioned that he may talk about the influence HJ Tweedie had in the area, which was the topic of a recent GCA thread.

Please let me know if you can make it and I will post a running list of participants. Reply or PM me if you have any additional questions.

Look forward to seeing all of you in the dead of the Chicago winter!!

If anyone has any interest, I can bring a director of the Ryder Cup effort so we can discuss what's going on from a preparations standpoint - or if not, he's still good company but watch the scotch bottles.

Would be cool to hear Dan or Ryan's friend speak.....but then again, if we don't have a golf oriented speaker we'll have to settle for Crisham lecturing on what's new in dentistry.  So yeah, let's find a golf speaker.

We've got quite a program in the making. Our own, Dan Moore, an update on the Medinah Ryder Cup thanks to Ryan and a Bandon et al report thanks to Terry.
