The Dye Boys

I am curious what people think of Perry and P.B. work.

My impression is that Perry seems perfectly happy to crank out as many Pete Dye copy courses as he possible can and wants to be the one that carries on the Dye name. A hard driving and hard working man though.

My impression of P.B.  is he is quite a bit more laid back, except for when it comes to partying, and is finally trying to come into his own as a designer.

Who will have the greatest impact after Pete and Alice?

What are some of the boys best work?

People get into the business by all sorts of avenues. Some rare ones are original geniuses and have something to say that's creatuive, powerful and influential. That's a fair way of summing up Pete Dye - helped in no small measure by Alice Dye.

What a family!
What I feel is how creative Pete and Alice have been with our, that's GCA's, concern for what classic course design can still offer the game.
Never met the guy or gal, or the boys, but I think I know I would like them after reading "Bury Me in a Pot Bunker".

You're right Willie, the Dyes are quite a family in architecture. The thing I like about Pete is he sure brought some great innovation into the middle of the "Modern Age" era. Also if  you want a Pete Dye course you get a "Pete Dye" course not some reflection of an egotistical owner/developer who stands over Pete and tells him what to do!

The Dye family is real low key too. I remember some years ago if some bigwig called Pete to talk about building a course he was likely to get Pete's mother on the phone. And if the bigwig asked the price, Pete's mother might say; "Oh Petey doesn't cost much at all and just sort of leave it at that!
