The "Caddies Play Ground" at Mountain Ridge CC
« on: August 14, 2010, 08:56:40 PM »
In looking at Ross' routing of Mountain Ridge on page 110 of Brad Klein's Discovering Donald Ross I noticed a small field between the 17th tee and 18th green labeled "Caddies Play Ground."  Was this merely a conceptual afterthought or did it in fact get built?  Any other drawings with a similar feature?

Mike,

The area of the "Caddies Playground" is now the older tennis courts.

I don't know when the tennis courts at that location were introduced but I'll try to find out.

The pitch and putt course is now the pool area and a section of the parking lot.
I'll have to inquire about it as well.

The problem is that most of the original members and their children have gone on to that fairway in the sky, so I'll have to make more formal inquiries.
