We are about an hour from tee off---will Dustin win?
« on: June 20, 2010, 03:51:42 PM »
One word answer, yes or no, please...(edited for clarity)

and if he doesn't win, tell us who will?

I think he is going to shoot around even or one under and bring it home...

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

yes

EDIT...This thread and its questions are a bit confusing I think.

For the record, I am answering the question asked in the thread (Will D. Johnson win?), not the question asked in the title (Will Dustin choke?).  What I mean (after watching his triple bogey on 2) is that yes, he will choke and no he will not win.  UGLY!!!!

Yes - TW will win - that's Tiger Woods rather than Tom Watson.

Dustin will win with McDowell close but a couple back.  Tiger has never won coming from behind, let alone 5 shots and in his current state, yesterdays round was the miracle.  I just don't see him following that up with a good round or DJ or McDowell faltering.

No.

That being said, I am not sure if he will win either. I don't think he'll blow up and shoot 80 or something, but 2 over is possible, and certainly not a terrible round. I don't think McDowell will work it out, I see him shooting no better than par, likely 2 or 3 over. Tiger is the wild card. His scores have gotten better each round, certainly I don't see him shooting 65 or better, but I can see him shooting a 69. He get to -3 or -4 early in this round and that changes the whole game.

I think different people are responding yes or no to two different questions. The subject said will he choke and the question in the post said will he win.

I will say no to choking and yes to winning.

Not looking so good now....
In July I will be riding two stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity, including Mont Ventoux for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

I said yesterday that 2nd place would come from Els / Mickelson group. Looks entirely possible that 1st and 2nd could both come from that group.  Phil has missed a couple early opportunities to be right in the middle of this.

How about breaking 80? I'll take the over
Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta
