Pat,

When you throw a get together, you do it right!  That's quite a menu!

Wish I could make it, it would be nice to get to meet everyone.

Scott,

I'm hoping that this year's get together will be the equal or better than the previous get togethers I've hosted.

I think we have a great venue, a great program, great speakers a great menu and great attendees.

I think we'll have a mini-tournament, best ball of foursome, gross and net, with some challenging hole locations.

You can make up your own foursomes.

When you send your check in, please include your GHIN # and index.

I'd like to post some pictures along with a score card from Mountain Ridge and a Pin sheet.
Who can I email them to for posting ?

Thanks

We've had a slight price increase of $ 20, but, I can assure you, you'll get improved value for every penny.

Please send your checks in the amount of $ 120, payable to Patrick Mucci Jr, to

Kim Fitzgerald
C/O  Mucci Companies
Suite 201
1135 Clifton Ave
Clifton, NJ  07013

The field for golf may be limited to 84-100 golfers, depending upon the size of the response for those attending.
Some, like TEPaul, will not play golf.

I'll determine participation as the field swells, and, I'll notify everyone of their status on this thread.

I'll try my best to accomodate everyone.

We may even arrange for Sunday or Tuesday golf at a number of quality courses, including Banks courses.

Patrick sounds like a great time.  Unfortunately I will not be able to make it.  However I will be a Rules Official at the 2012 Sr. Am.
Best
Dave

Yes, absolutely.

George Bahto has indicated that he will be attending, as will Ran Morrissett and TEPaul.

Nothing really to add or say, but thank you again to Patrick.

Actually, truth be told, I'm trying to focus on the very positive aspects and mostly great people here on GCA, as well as trying to push that other trainwreck of a thread off the front page.    ::) ;D

Pat,

How about a few minutes on the agenda for the actual construction from Tony Pavelec.  We talk a lot about the architecture but the actual pick and shovel work is something that not many in this illustrious body have been a part of.  It may add a new appreciation for the architectural vision / plans / drawings and translating them to the earth.  My two cents. 8)

Best,

DEAN

PS: My foursome is already logged in with Kim.

Sorry that I haven't gotten back to everyone, but, I was out of town and forgot my user name and password, so I couldn't access the site and any IM's.

Dean,

Time is the biggest dilema we face in terms of speakers since the program will run from 8:00 am until noon when we break for lunch and golf.  With 15 minute breaks between speakers, it limits the number of speakers.

But, your suggestion is a good one.

Right now, Cliff Moore, the Super, Ron Prichard, the consulting architect and Brad Klein are scheduled to speak.

I'm trying to see if Mike Davis might join us as one of the speakers.

If he can't, Pavlec might add another dimension to the program.

Pat,

And to think I started it all about 8 years ago at Smith & Wollensky with Tom Paul and you.  Do you remember TEP spilling red wine on one of the architectural drawings you brought?

Hope I can make your latest soiree.

Chipoat,

I do recall that first event, it was a lot of fun.

Good food, good conversation and most importantly, good company.

I hope you can make it to Mountain Ridge, you won't be disappointed.

Here's some 1932 photos of the clubhouse, which has changed very little over the intervening 80 years since its construction in 1930.

The scorecard will be posted shortly, along with Donald Ross 1929 schematic of the original course.
Since 1929, the nines have been reversed.

With respect to playing the course in the afternoon, attendees can choose whichever tees their game is adequately prepared for.

At a par of 71, it's a very stiff test from the championship tees, especiallly with challenging hole locations, which you can count on.

The critical issue is time.

With a projected tee off time of 1:00, I'd like everyone off the course and on the patio for cocktails, hors d oeuvres and discussion by 5:30.

Actually, with this group and their keen awareness of pace of play, we should easily be done by 5:00 at the latest  ;D

If the weather co-operates, this should be a great day since we have all the desired ingredients.

For all you single digit handicaps deciding between the Blue or Black tees, let me tell you that the Blues are plenty of golf course!

Now when I played MR with Pat and his (near scratch) buddies, they played a secret blend of Black and Blue tees... I kept anxiously nodding at the Blues and they kept shaking their heads "no" except for a few holes :)
