Although the full restoration project hasn’t been approved by the membership, they already started with the tree removal program.
Prior to this Sunday, I last played the Wissahickon course in October. When I got to the third hole, I didn’t recognize the place. Hundreds of trees, including every tree on both sides of the railroad tracks from the 9th tee to the 3 rd green, were gone.
The proposed plan will increase the yardage by 200 yards and reduce par from 71 to 70. The 7th hole will be “shortened” from a par 5 to a 480 yard par 4.
