Woo hoo hoo!  Somewhere in heaven, Mike Strantz is smiling.

Good news for the tournament.  A lot of positives for MPCC replacing Poppy for the tournament.  May not be great news
for NCGA?  But will likely help the tournament itself

Wouldn't it grand if they got some coverage?
Coasting is a downhill process

There's the rub.   They actually did some nice profiles of it and the Strantz story during this years tournament coverage, but for sure didn't show many golf shots.

No mention of the revenue MPCC might receive from the tournament.  I believe they didn't receive anything last year.

On another subject, what does this mean for Poppy Hills?  Hopefully the NCGA will finally step up and find an architect other than RTJ2 and rebuild Poppy into something special.  To me you have a 1980's course that is out of date and out of character.

Going along with Tim and Tom, the tournament at Pebble is easliy one of the worst telecasts all year.  All they do is talk to celebrities that no one cares about, and then they show tons of putting and that's about it.  It's too bad.  I would love to see more of the Shore course but I'm not counting on it.

I'm not a fan of the celeb coverage either, but once a year I can deal with it...if they'd make it a lot less about hagiographic hero worship, I'd like it more...and if they'd pick better "stars."
