It's about time RG returned to the national scene. A Women's Open would be great.

Completely agree.  RG is a wonderful golf course that deserves national attention.

So - does it feel more like Flynn now with the restoration work done?

Thanks for the link, Mike.  That's a sweet photo and I learned a bit more about your course.  ;)

The trees that were on #7 should never have been planted but they usually just affected mishits. The bunkers  affect the aerial shot to that hole in a marginal way; they just eliminate the intended runup shot . I wonder how the author heard of the "controversy" on #7 ?

I never imagined they would do the significant bunker work. That was a pleasant surprise and has brought Flynn back to life on several holes, notably #5 and #10. The fairway expansions are great throwbacks on #2, #5, and fine interpretations on #7 and #15.

Very nice read M2.

Joe

P.S.  Did you caddy for Big Momma back in 1976?   ;) ;D

A friend of mine caddied for an unknown lady that year. He told me they had the most trouble reading the 7th green. That is a surprise to me.
