O/T First Day Cover
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:13:53 PM »
I opened up one of my golf books and out popped an envelope with all sorts of interesting images on it.

Official First Day Cover.

Illustration of the Clubhouse of The Country Club.

The famous illustration of Francis D. Ouimet and Eddie Lowery, noting 1913 U.S Open Champion As America's First Golf Hero.

A 25 cent stamp of Francis Ouimet.

Postmark June 13, 1988 from Brookline.

I am no Philatelist, so does this have any intrinsic value?

It depends on what the stamp is mounted on and if it's frame ready. The Ouimet first day cover is available on ebay with current bids as low as $.99 and as much as $50 on a buy it now option.

Gosh, I thought I had found the Hope Diamond.

If any GCA stamp collectors want it, let me know and I'll put the names in the hat and send it off.
