Best Golf Course Bike Tour

It was warm enough for me to ride my bike today.  On a 20 mile ride I passed Fenway, Winged Foot West, Quaker Ridge, Wykakill, Ridgeway, Westchester Hills, Maple Moor and Saxon Woods.  Had I done another 10m miles I could have seen Century, Old Oaks,  Blind Brook etc.  I've passed all these courses on my bike at one time or another.  Any other residential area in America with such a concentration of golf?

Absolutely, though maybe not for quality. However, in the distance in San Francisco you can get in Olympic, SFGC, California Club in SF, Lake MErced, and a few others.

Other than that  I think Chicago or LA would be your best bets.

The Monterey Peninsula on a bike ride wouldn't be bad for golf course viewing and and nice house viewing and ocean viewing and pretty much every other viewing.

I regularly took a bike ride that went by Pacific Grove, Spanish Bay, MPCC, Spyglass, Pebble, Peter Hay and Cypress Point.  From my old house it was about a 16 mile round trip.

Phil - I hope you rode your bike down the big hill to Mamaroneck and then back up QR Rd by Wykakill!! Thats a huge ass hill, mountain if you will, going up Fenimore / Mamroneck Rd!!... glad they finally fixed Griffen Ave as well, it was a mess for years.

The worst hill on today's route was from the Post Road then up Mamaroneck Road.  Griffin Road leading up to Weaver Street is taxing as well.  I've been cycling off and on for about 6 months.  Hard core cyclists just blow right by me.  The guys who do the Tour de France must be incredibly fit.

Phil - Thats impressive climbing up that hill... its amazing watching some of the WF and other caddies at QR who ride their bikes from the train station in Mamaroneck all the way up that hill everyday, then schelp 2 bags around 18 holes.

We have a winner....

It was warm enough for me to ride my bike today.

Please don't rub that in as the Chicago contingent got up to a blistering 30 today.  Yes I know that is warm enough to go out for a ride, unfortunately the only cold weather gear I own for my bike is a "trainer"
