Jeepers - you lot are fiesty tonight.

My final three picks are
#5 Beau Desert 411 par 4
#9 Beau Desert 260 par 4
#15 Enniscrone 421 par 4

Clubhouse – North Berwick

There you have it, my 18 holes.  I think I have something close to my ideal if not exactly what I would have liked.  I followed my rules of
picking only holes I have played – each hole must have my stamp of approval.  Even the clubhouse had to be among the courses I chose holes from.

1. Keeping the elevation changes reasonably in check.  IE matching downhill and uphill holes so my course isn’t terribly out of whack.

2. Keeping the course short, but still challenging for all but the very best players.  I am guessing my course is close to 5800 yards from the daily tees.

3. A good walking course - not too much elevation change.

4. A balance of beauty, challenge and birdie opportunities.  A high single figure player can play to par on his day.

5. Light bunkering.

6. Course playable all year round.

7. A few water holes, a few funky holes, a few with crazy greens, but mainly straightforward holes over interesting ground.

8. Clubhouse with a view, but not on a hill.

1.   St Enodoc 528 yard par 5
2.   Royal Dornoch 184 yard par 3
3.   Woking 445 yard par 4
4.   St Enodoc 323 yard par 4
5.   Beau Desert 411 yard par 4
6.   Sunningdale New 510 yard par 5
7.   Pennard 351 yard par 4
8.   Royal Troon 123 yard par 3
9.   Beau Desert 260 yard par 4
10.   Cavendish 422 yard par 4
11.   Royal Dornoch 445 yard par 4
12.   Aberdovey 149 yard par 3
13.   Prestwick 460 yard par 4
14.   Sunningdale New 191 yard par 3
15.   Enniscrone 421 yard par 4
16.   North Berwick 379 yard par 4
17.   Swinley Forest 170 yard par 3
18.   Kington 285ish yard par 4

North Berwick clubhouse

OUT 3135 yards par 36
IN 2922 yards par 33
TOTAL 6057 par 69

Ciao

Jim

Thanks for all your efforts!

Missed my third pick today while traveling, so my late replacement is the Dell hole, #5 at Lahinch, 165 yards.

Victory is mine!!!

Sorry I haven't been chiming in boys. Bogey chewed through my Macbook cord and Dept of Defense computers have effective firewalls against golf architecture discussion groups. Coltrain, when are you going to create that GCA iPhone app we keep talking about.

By the way, even though Tom chose the Dell, Wyatt Halliday is way out in front. :)

Yea I didn't see that one coming . You probably emailed him asking for him to take that or did you ask him to take the other "dell" hole ?

Ben,
Thanks for the vote of confidence. There are some pretty strong courses in this draft.

Turtle,
I believe you can recall the Best Western Traverse City. The skin search was nil that weekend if I remember correctly.
