I would love to be in this, but I am currently a block and a half from Ipanema beach, and I am not going to be sitting on the computer tomorrow picking golf holes.  Best of luck to all of you!

If Tom does the Olympics course then Colton could do a new song: "The Doak in Ipanema"
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Jack and Tom reunite at Sebonack South in Rio...that's my prediction (ha ha ha ha ha)...how many guys in the draft so far, Jim?

I think we have 16...17 if you count AutoTom (can we find him 18 waterfall holes?)

I'll keep the sign-up open tonight, randomize the order Thurs morning and then we'll start with whatever we have at that point.

Not having done this before, I should have asked this - how much time do I have to make selections?  I'm not thinking that I need hours to decide, but may not be free to do so everytime my turn comes up.

John,

You should have a reasonable amount of time, but if you know you will be unavailable you can just IM Jim several autopicks (I suggest more than enough to cover other's potential pix..) beforehand...this seemed to work pretty well except for a couple of knuckleheads  ;)

John,

I think we did four hour intervals the last time around, 12-hour if it's overnight.  You can always send in picks ahead of time via PM.

You know how Ipanema beach works don't you: away from the sea: I'm not available, near the sea: I'm very available. so stick to the road side  ;D.

(I know, very OT)

And if possible I would like to be in!

In, if possible.

Tom, enjoy the bathing suits!  The golf in Brazil might not be world-class, but they are!

Firm and Fast and Brown and Dry
The Doak from Ipanema goes playing
and when one plays
each one who plays goes, "Ah"

Still room.  We'll keep it open for anybody who's interested until Thurs morning, then we'll start the drafting.

There was some talk about this around Thanksgiving, but it never got off the ground.  I'm over two months away from swinging a golf club so need something to do to pass the time.

Announcing the GCA Mock Fantasy Draft II, the Dream Course Edition

Ground Rules:
- Build a Dream 18-hole course by picking corresponding 1st-18th holes from real courses
- No restriction to par (build a par 90 for all I care) or designer, but one person can only pick three holes from any one course. Obviously once a hole is picked it's off the board.
- The same course can be picked in the same round by other participants (or by the same guy in a round w/ multiple picks
(just to be sure; does this mean that the same hole can be picked as well if it is in the same round?)
- Snake draft with 20-24 guys (or more if there's strong interest)
- Same format as last time -- make a pick by posting to the thread, send the next guy a PM and tell him he's on the clock
- Eight rounds:
the first 2 rounds - 1 hole per pick
next 2 rounds - 2 holes per pick
next 4 rounds - 3 holes per pick

Who's In? Sign up today (Weds) and if we get a critical mass we'll start the picks tomorrow.

Cristian,

Once a hole is picked, it is off the board.  The guy who picked that hole 'owns' the hole.

There are no restrictions across participants when it comes to courses, number of holes from any one course, etc, other than when a hole is picked, it's off the board.

So If I understand, my 1st hole has to be a 1st hole on a course.  For example, my #1 cannot be the 18th at Pebble Beach.  Correct?

Jc,

right... the hole on the course has to correspond to the hole on your course.

I amended my post above to say that once a hole is picked, it can't be picked again. Other holes from that course can be picked.

Wyatt is number 21...who else is in?

does my first round pick have to be the first hole on my course and so on?
