Jim-

A question, please.

In this round, am I allowed to swap out an earlier pick and select two new picks (for a total of 3 transactions)?

Yes

Why are we allowed to swamp out an earlier pick?  Shouldn't that be during the add/drop period after the draft?

JC Jones,

I don't see why this would be a problem as long as all 3 transactions are new holes.  Perhaps if it becomes a "habit" to his process, then maybe it would be problematic.

P.S.  I'm having a blast with this thread so far...I can't stop thinking about that "next" pick especially when you have to make all the holes fit as well as wanting to keep it near a par 72 like I will be doing just for fun.

I'll take a couple of Doak's while they're still on the board. The par-3 #8 @ RCCC and the par-4 #12 @ Cape Kidnappers.

RCCC #8: 193 Yds, Par 3;

Cape Kidnappers #12 - Infinity: 460 Yds, Par 4

I can't get too excited when I have 44 guys ahead of me.  That's 88 holes that will be off the board by the time I get to pick again.  Stay away from Bushwood, OK?  I have my eyes on a few holes there.

Okay, I'm on vacation without any of my books, and I've spotted everyone in the field 2-4 holes.  I call it even.

Here are my make-up picks:

Machrihanish #1 - 423 yards
Barnbougle Dunes #4 - 299 yards (as stupid as this is, because there are more great fourth holes than any other number)
Prairie Dunes #8 - 425 yards

I'll post the fourth after I look back on what's already been picked.

I select Coure d'Alene--14th hole--???--par 3

because true architectural fans can appreciate a green that is movable!!!!

and Brickyard Crossing--10th hole---346 yards par 4--in Indianapolis...

because nothing reflects the true nature of the game like playing golf on the infield on the Indy 500!!!!!   ;D

Sorry, I did not see where Prairie Dunes was listed among the courses used.  My bad.  And Mayhugh took my next obvious pick (the sixth at National) while I was not paying attention.

So my fourth pick will be hole #6, Crystal Downs.  I think it's 384 yards or something like that from the back tee.

He's trying to make us feel sorry for him, with the "as stupid as this is" comment.

Sticking out there in the Atlantic, two hours ahead of us eastern guys, isn't going to help him.

Jim Thornton, nice break-up line "We've decided to go in a different direction."

John Mahugh, nobody's going to 8th holes anymore...they're too crowded!

What is the proper way to state the hole number if selecting a hole from a club that has 3 nines (ala TCC)?

To be more specific re: TCC, the other issue is how to reflect the hole number if using the routing from the composite course.
