Starting the year with hand surgery, and then running into a number of professional and personal challenges this year, I played less golf at any time in my adult life and only managed to play a total of 10 new courses this year, 3 of them during a weekend wedding in upstate NY.
I've had years in the past where I've played 60-80 new courses, although Cory Lewis puts me to shame. But, he's young.
However, I did manage to play golf with Andy Hughes, Jerry Kluger, Joe Bausch, Kyle Harris, Alex Stavrides, and met Bob Crosby, Peter Pittock, and John Lyons at the Walker Cup as well as running into long-timers Tom Paul, Wayne Morrison, Joe Logan, and Kelly Blake Moran (and son) there, so life is good.
I finished the year with a round on Pinehurst #2
amazingly getting paired as a single with fellow GCA-er Jeff Loh (with Susanna), and then played Tobacco Road on my way out of town the next day, so life is sometimes even better than good.
