Bill

Perhaps in hindsight, I should have just said nothing and decided where to go in September, but feeling that this was an open discussion group I thought that I would mention it.

Clearly, I should only mention in future what others want to hear.  This site sounds like a mixture of  George Orwell’s Animal Farm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksnwIUyspps)  and the series called The Prisoner (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om8Xwa3MhaU&feature=related ).

 Melvyn,

You should speak your mind and accept the consequences. I think the internet doesn't pick up your form of humor. You seem to be constantly misunderstood. This is why you should meet a cadre of gcaers in person so that we can pick up the body language.

Thanks, Scott. I thought of it as soon as I stopped trying.

Your post #33 actually opened the door and then closed it in one fell swoop!

Come see us, we're better in person, even Mayday Malone!

End of thread for me, it's originally about meeting at B&B and I can't wait for that.

Gents... while I would also like to meet Melvyn in person PLEASE stop begging the bloke to come play golf with us at B&B. If he decides to come (and I hope he does) he will be warmly welcomed by all. But, this pleading with him is way too whiny.

Jeeze, we're five months away from the get together... surely that is plenty of time for him to decide if he wants some face time with his GCA.com brethren!!!

At the end of the day, it's his loss if he doesn't want to meet us.  ;D

As the main Buda thread is currently on the front page, I thought a quick bump for the pre Buda golf at Burnham was in order. Still plenty of space for anyone interested?

Also I've updated the first post after a couple of withdrawls and an addition.

Cheers,

James

Scott,

This marriage of yours is very bad timing  ;D

We will just have to try and fit in a trip to Burnham another time before October!

Yeah, absolutely. As we have discussed, leaving here without having played the course that started it all just won't do! ;D

Sorry to have to pull out of 16/9, we're now leaving for France that afternoon, so my hands were tied.

Can anyone offer an estimate of the driving time from Deal to B&B? Since we'll be stuck with traveling on the M25 should we plan for a near-dawn departure?

Craig,

Google Maps puts the journey at 4 hours, so if you were wanting to get to Burnham for midday to get a bite to eat before playing, thats an 8am start before taking account of the M25.

If you leave at 8, you'll be hitting the M25 around 9 which means you may just get caught in the rush hour traffic. Only problem is, the earlier you try to leave the more rush hour will influence the journey...

Nearer the time, I'll try and work out were people will be travelling from so I can put anyone coming a long way off later so they don't need to rush. Hope that helps?

Cheers,

James

As we are now only a couple of months away from Buda, its probably worth a bump of this thread. Lets hope Sean can join us!

Anyone else attending Buda whose plans are firming up and fancies joining us, or any other GCAers who would like to join us, then please let me know!

Cheers,

James

It looks likely that I am going to have to skip B&B now because of a work commitment.  I'll head straight to our B&B instead, if that's not too confusing!  Hope that doesn't mess up your numbers too much.  Apologies if it does.

Robin,

No problem at all, but a shame you wont be able to join us.

You are staying athe Porthcawls Dormey House that night aren't you? I think its going to be getting quite late by the time those of us playing Burnham have got across the other side of the Severn Estury, so probably a good thing someone will be there earlier to get keys etc?
