Official GCA Pay It Forward Experiment
« on: December 12, 2009, 10:13:31 PM »
Folks:

In the hopes that this hasn't been tried before, I propose a pay it forward experiment.

I have an unused scorecard from Augusta National.  I will send it free of charge to the first GCAer who asks (via a reply in this thread), so long as that person agrees to offer something from his/her collection or inventory to the next poster that might be of interest to the rest of us.  That person then presents an item, sends it for free, and so on.  As things progress, perhaps each of us will participate, passing something of interest along in the hope that someone else will enjoy it.

So, who wants my scorecard?  Reply, then message your mailing address, and it's yours this week.

PS The scorecard is from 1998, I believe, so it provides a glimpse at some pre-2000 yardages.  And I realize, by the way, that this is a small start.

I'd like that to give to a friend who loves ANGC.

In kind I have a booklet from Crystal Downs titled "Golf at Crystal Downs"
It has a welcome page, a history page, Course description, schematic and Pro tips from Fred Muller. It is about the size of a scorecard and has 17 pages plus the cover.

You know guys...I would love to contribute to this...but I don't have anything cool.

However, I've set up, and am setting up, access to private golf courses for vistors to my neck of the woods.  And others have done the same for me.

So, I think this pay it forward is happening on this site even outside of this thread...but I love the idea of the thread...I just don't have very much that is cool.

Bottom line...I love the thread and wish I could contribute.

I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

I would appreciate this book if not already spoken for.  In turn, I will offer a copy of Lorne Rubestein's A Season In Dornoch.

On a related note, I have a pretty large (4  rack) pencil collection. I also have some pretty good doubles (Royal County Down, etc., I'll do an inventory.) Anyone want to swap some doubles?

Bogey,

I'll take the Dornoch book if it's still up for grabs.

Although probably worth less than anything else on this list, I offer up a signed copy of my new book, "One Divot at a Time...: Diary of a Full-Fledged Golf Addict, Volume 1".  If I need to sweeten the deal, I'll add a couple yardage books that I have duplicates of (need to dig into my shoeboxes, but I think I have doubles of TOC, Kingsbarns, Ballyneal, Blackwolf Run to name a few).

Now I'm confused as all get out.  You publicly claim an item and then publicly offer an item.  Some of you people would mess up a one car funeral. ;D

Jim Colton, send me an IM with your address and I'll put the book in the mail anyway, notwithstanding my failure to successfully bid for the Daley book.

Kindest regards,

Mike
