Singles matches upped at Walker Cup

From Ron Balicki's blog on Golfweek.com:
In the past, the competition would come to an end with eight singles matches, which in turn left two players on each side sitting out. This time around, all 10 will play in that final singles sessions, increasing the total points available from 24 to 26.

They should really do that both afternoons, no need for anyone to sit.

Those college kids are in great shape and boy can they play!  The last two matches, Chicago 2005 and RCD 2007, were just super competitions, and none of the rah rah stuff that turned off so many here at the Solheim Cup (and past Ryder Cups as well).

Interesting!

Who wants to guess who the final two picks will be following the US Amateur?

Tim Jackson will probably get one with his medalist position and being a leader at the Senior Open into the weekend.

Trip Kuehne was the oldest guy by 10 years at Royal County Down.  The odds on Jackson are VERY LONG.

I don't think so if he has a good run in match play this week.
