Tepper stuns Weiskopf !! New
« on: July 21, 2009, 05:25:57 PM »
I  just learned from a reliable source at ESPN that David Tepper beat Tom Weiskopf, in a low key match, that they contested recently on a pretty golf course in Northern California. The decisive shot came as Mr.Tepper hit a very crisp iron that threatened to go in the hole, near the end of their round. Mr Weiskopf was gracious in defeat, although earlier in the match he nearly threw a seven iron a short distance. None of the small gallery were hurt or startled.

Congratulations David  !

Mark is referring to a 8-iron that was lucky enough to go in the hole on the 3rd hole of the OC Cliffs Course Friday afternoon.

After winning a car for my 1st ace, the rest have seemed rather anti-climactic! ;)

Mark -

Thanks for the kudos, but, in the immortal words of Bob Dylan, "it ain't me, babe."

Not only is there a David Tepper in the investment business who is far, far, far, far more successful than I am, it now looks like there is a David Tepper who is a better golfer than I am.

By the way, in neither case is that an especially notable achievement. ;)

Nice job there David.

Next time at Lincoln I'll be taking some strokes ... thank you :-)

Congrats on the ace David. When you say lucky, are you referring to a ricochet off a ball-washer or bunker rake? ;) How did the car come into the picture?

Ask yourself...

...and who gets the credit for the assist ;)

EVERY hole-in-one is a lucky shot! ;)
I did spend an extra 3-5 seconds checking my alignment for that shot, so there was some effort involved.
I am much more pleased with the 28 I shot over the 9 holes than the ace.

For my first ace, at the 1996 Santa Cruz City Amateur, I won a Honda Civic hatchback that I am still driving, cracked windshield and all.

David,

How long did it take you to get re-instated?

Bob -

It took a little less than 2 years.
I can send you my press clippings from the Santa Cruz Sentinel if you are really interested!

I don't know about the luck, I am still waiting for my first ace. :'(

Well you've certainly gotten your money's worth from the car. 8)
