Cliff,

The bad news is they will confiscate your camera.

The good news is they will mail you a replacement.

Pat,

It's not true - I just made it up for fun and to remind everyone:  You can't believe everything you read on GCA.

Kindest regards,

Mike

I wasn't sure! haha.

To be honest I will take pictures at public courses freely, but am never sure if its acceptable at a private club.

If a prison, I just might welcome a 20 year sentence.   ;D

Guys.  The picture of the gate is the gate to the turf care area, not the main entrance gate.  The main entrance is very subdued and there is no sign (you turn left at the big Propane tank off of Lee Highway BTW) but it a little fancier than the one pictured.  The main gate is not barbed wire at all and the landscaping is a lot nicer if anyone cares about that stuff :)

I have been taking pics there since 1991 and my gate card still works ;)  Way to keep everyone on their toes though Bogey!

Cliff,

Enjoy your time there, the Honors Course is a special place.

Chris,

The turf gate was the only picture I had on my work computer.  Here is the main entrance.

Still the coolest entrance in golf.

Cliff,

Mark, if you think that's the "coolest entrance in golf," you need to get out on Long Island and visit National Golf Links of America!

I have seen no one mentions the great article and plethora of pix in this site's 'Courses by Country' area.

Where is everybody? Where is Tommy N? Where is John K? Where is Jay F? What has happened here? Has my absence caused this chaos? I'm sorry. All my rowdy friends have settled down ......... somewhere else!

Thanks for the help guys.  I forgot about camera etiquette.  I learned my lesson at Seminole a few years back.  I got about 3 pictures before being asked politely to refrain from turning the camera on for the remainder of my visit.

Its funny because when I have been to Pine Valley, ANGC, Sinnecock, Maidstone, Brookline and others they have had no issues with pictures. Although I have made it a habit to ask.  Not only did I learn about picture taking at Seminole, I learned about one of the best Ross courses of all time.  What a Gem.

I will ask at Honors before shooting.  I dont want to be that guy with my host!

If I get some time next week I will post a few, pending if my host says yes.

Chris,  As I recall ,all of the "committee" members bear a striking resemblance to Mr. Lupton!
                                         Wish you well,  Jack
