Thanks for the photos, they're very interesting.
It would appear that the golfer encounters an inordinate number of sidehill lies.
Do most of the holes traverse slopes rather than running up and down them ?
I played the course between Glen Mills and Philadelphia Cricket in 2008. It finished a distant third, primarily due to the number of sidehill shots played to uphill green sites. Very few holes directly climb or tumble down slopes as I recall.
For what it's worth, the course was very well kept and probably well designed, but neither my playing partner nor I had fun playing it (even with two birdies on the last hole). I've never been able to put my finger on exactly why. I've always chalked it up to the superior courses we played around it, but I think it's more than that.
