Two more:

Dunaverty, south of Machrihanish at the extreme southern tip of the Kintyre Peninsula in Scotland, has several odd-length holes, including three that meet the criteria. The best is The Cleet, the 11th hole, at 266 yards, with a tee perched on the highest point of the course, to a fairway down below:

Stonehaven, near Aberdeen, has a couple of sub-280 par 4s, the best of which is the 13th, Red Man, 252 yds, with a carry of about 150 yards over an enormous chasm. The walk from tee to fairway is a lot of fun.

#6 at Myopia....260 yards to a green that slopes HARD right to left.  Also fun is a stream crosses the hole....210 or so carry on the right half of the fairway, 240 short left of the green.

#1 at Myopia....274 yards straight uphill.  Looks easy, but the green has a shaved bank to the left that feeds poor approaches into a bunker.  Too many tee shots are left to the right to avoid the fescue left, and are met with a shot to a ridiculously narrow green from that angle.

#6 at Tedesco...277 uphill.  Plays to the wildest green at Tedesco, with several AWESOME pin locations.  The green can be favorably compared to a potato chip.  This hole tempts with its length, but the better play is a 5-iron and SW.
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Dan Boerger,

Just played it today...#14 at Leatherstocking tops out at 285.  No grass bunkers, but there are two sand bunkers in critical spaces near the green.  I birdied it, one of the few bright spots in a day that included 42 shots from tee to green and 40 putts!

While it would fit no one's definition of a great course, Grandview in Des Moines Ia, features between 4 and 6 driveable par fours - including 3 in a row.  With a course rating of 65.6 and par of 70 it might be more difficult to play to your handicap there than at a very difficult course.

What about the famous "E" green #7 hole at Ballyneal from the most forward tees (since there are no "official" tee markers there)?

The 7th at my home course, Scarboro fits the description although it does have a creek winding through the hole but the creek rarely comes into play.  The hole plays about 275 from the tips and the risk averse try to drive the green but it is rarely wise as the bunkers about 25 yards short of the green will likely catch your drive.  The green is TINY and has two tiers.  I always try to leave myself 90-100 yards for a full wedge shot to the green.

Has anyone played Vardon's 18th at Llandrindod Wells?  Mark R. or Sean perhaps?  It's 297 on the card, but rather downhill, and any hole called "Death or Glory" must have some appeal.

The 7th and 18th holes at Scott Witter's Ironwood course (http://playironwood.com/the_course.php3) both fit the category stated herein, albeit from the white tees.  The former is a driver or 3 wood over a lake to a two-tiered, elevated green with some bunkering.  The later is a hole stolen from Ireland, set against a rise with a yawning sand pit protecting the front.  Both can be driven and eagled, both can be butchered.
