Tom, I walked headlong into the 1-2-3 madness at Torrey, which has far to many bottlenecks. The canyons already took away room for people to walk, so yes, it'll be just as much of a nightmare. But you get that hosting a golf tournament. I'm given to understand that they won't erase mike's work, just make more positions in which to hold the competition.
Forrest Fezler held the course record there of 70 for 8 years...it wont play THAT easy! If it gets windy, it stiffens too. I have empathy for your position, and understand a big tournament chews up a course, but for a short term, perhaps the equation isn't as one sided as you might feel at first. After all, we get to promote Mike, people get to see a truly great golf course. The course will always grow back. And don't think that the golf world isn't grateful to the members for the sacrifice they have to make, we are.
