Chris and I did an "In My Opinion" piece comparing and contrasting the two courses.  in anticipation of the article being posted, who has played either or booth and what did you think?

Jay,

I've played Southern Hills a number of times.

I liked the golf course, but, I'm always saddened to see greens with character lose that character due to high speeds.

Mike Rewinsky lamented the "need for speed" in a thread he created years ago.

Winged Foot and Southern Hills flattened some of their greens.

Will Merion be next ?

I hope not.

Hiya Pat.  I wish a lot of courses wouldn't have flattened a lot of greens.  Still Sh is a good venue and the Oklahomans are the nicest people.  have you played PKGCC (has anybody on this board?!)

Winged Foot is still unbelievable...amazing.
