whining can pay off: Dove Mountains greens to be redone

so reports Prof. Klein reports on GW's website

"Nicklaus...defended his basic approach in building complex putting surfaces...He said 'As far as these guys hit the golf ball today, you have to try to - your only defense of a golf course anymore is its greens'".
199 played, only Augusta National left to play!

I didn't see anybody putt the ball off the greens, no 5 putts or repetitive 3-4 putts... you had to put the ball on the proper spot, if not, you wouldn't be able to make a 25 footer... so what

these guys are good... but don't want to think

while they're redoing the greens  :o :o :( :( >:( >:( ;D to make it less challenging, they can build some new tees to make it more challenging
"Let's slow the damned greens down a bit, not take the character out of them." Tom Doak
"Take their focus off the grass and put it squarely on interesting golf." Don Mahaffey

And grow a bunch of deep rough too?

This is too bad, I thought that was the most entertaining golf I'd seen on the PGA Tour in a long time.......Geoff Ogilvie certainly seemed comfortable with the greens and the setup!
