Latest Issue of Tillinghast Illustrated...
« on: March 12, 2009, 02:39:16 PM »
Just when we've had several topics about the failure and closings of a number of golf publications, I am pleased to announce the Tillinghast Association's latest issue which can be viewed by visiting the Tillinghast Association website at www.tillinghast.net.

This issue is dedicated to Bethpage Black and the coming 2009 U.S. Open. It is the first of several special editions that will provide in-depth architectural and historical information about the course and the specifics of its original design and changes for this year's Open.

It is being sent to a multitude of media outlets to provide them with information that they can use as they prepare for their own coverage of the Open.

We'd very much like to thank GCA.com member Charlie Goerges who supplied both the aerial and individual hole aerials of the Black! They are wonderful and give some incredible design perspectives that would otherwise have been missed.

Charlie is one of the best things to happen to this site in the last year.

Keep up the good work Philip.

Charlie certainly is!

Also, thank you for a very undeserved compliment. Even though I've written a number of past articles, this entire issue is the work of others...

Excellent work by the Tillinghast Society and an example for all other Societies.

Phil,

Great work.

Thanks for putting to rest the fallacious idea that Tillinghast did NOT design the courses at Bethpage.   Your documentation is clear and decisive.

Also, much thanks to Charlie for his lovely aerial work.
