Soule Park--Saturday December 13th Who's in/Who's out?
« on: December 02, 2008, 10:39:39 PM »
Saturday, December 13th--BE THERE! BE THERE! BE THERE!

In an effort to keep David Stamm from jonesing any further (as well as myself for that matter) we are going to play Soule Park. But I need to reserve the times. A count is needed ASAP.

We will also have a special, VERY SPECIAL guest, as Jon Spaulding will NOT ONLY BE IN ATTENDANCE but also will be giving away free full sets of Tour Edition clubs and get this--Top Flight golf balls! (Just trying to throw away that family inheritance aren't you?!?!)

Yes, thats right, alls you have to do is play the round with the clubs and then say into a camera: "I want my Top Flight!"

Tommy - December 14 is a Sunday.

And I must say any golf with Jon Spaulding is time well spent, if humiliating.  He does play a game with which very few are familiar.  He's also a fine Santa Clara man, if of a younger generation.

I cannot get down there that weekend (huge family commitments each day), but wish I could.  Have a great time, and do post some pictures.

Tommy, I will play.  Saturday or Sunday.  Maybe I can get something from Gil about the course.

It must be kept in mind that the elusive charm of the game suffers as soon as any successful method of standardization is allowed to creep in.  A golf course should never pretend to be, nor is intended to be, an infallible tribunal.

Tom,
Damn me for not looking at a calender! Thanks for noticing that!

It is the 13th of December! A Saturday!

A creative Caddyshack reference might have a better chance of pulling me out of the henhouse for 10 hours.....and one typically catches more flies with Pro V1's.

What time did you have in mind.

I'd really love to join everyone at SP; Gil has done a wonderful job adding considerable interest there. I'm flying to South Africa that day, so will quite fortunately be unable to attend.  ;D  I'am sure you'll all have a great time; Ojai is a indeed a very special place.

Jon, We'll shoot for the morning, probably around 7-8. That time can be either adjusted or challenged to be changed.

Damn it Pete. I'm starting to think your avoiding me!

Jon, it would be great if you could make it. I know you'll love the course. As Pete said, Gil did a wonderful job there.

I'll start building a case on the homefront. Of course after seeing how few LA courses I've really played, that might be better rehab.

This request is denied. I demand you get a hall pass, in fact, get a flight. I'll pick you up at the airport and even drop you off.

Tommy, more like 9 AM.  Frost will be a problem most likely.  This way, we should get off by 10 AM worst case.

We have three tee times for next Saturday, November 13th.

Those times are for 6:54, 7:03 and 7:12 to accommodate those that need to play and then get home early. (to attend to family needs) Dress warm with the ability to strip off when it does get warmer during the round. (this advice comes from a trusted Ojai resident!) ;)

Great news on the tee times, Tom! If so desired, some could play another round with those times.

Pat,
Thats what I figured, thus left you off the list. On the positive side of things, to all Pat worked on a few of my swing flaws on Thanksgiving and honestly, after the way I hit the ball yesterday at El Niguel, my swing is on a steady road to super-stardom!

You have a gift Patrick. You have a gift. Any of you that don't look him up for a lesson, well your missing out.
