Round at Beechtree - Dec 6
« on: November 26, 2008, 03:21:37 PM »
Hey all,

I know Beechtree has already had its official send-off from GCA.com, so consider this very informal. I'll be in town on the 6th of December and have a tee time for 9:20 AM, rain, snow or shine.   ;)  So if any local guys want to see the course one final time before it closes the next day, it'd be fun to get together.

P.S.  I aked if I could go out earlier, but was told that frost was a concern so they started a little later in the morning.  I politely confirmed with him that the course was closing the following day, but he seemed very committed to providing a quality playing experience right to the end.  ;D

Anyways, if your interested let me know.

Thanks,

Kalen:
I would love to join you -- I've never made it to Beechtree even though I live in the DC area -- but it would involve skipping my daughter's birthday party.  Hope you get good weather.

Carl,

Thanks for that and Good Luck with the B-day party.

For now its looking like we have 3 lined up, and possibly a 4th.  If there is more interest I believe the slot at 9:30 is also free so we could get a couple of groups going.

Thanks,

Kalen

Kalen-

I might be able to pull this off as the last round of the year.  I had planned to play the "last round of the year" a few weeks ago, but it turned really cold in DC early.

I will keep you posted.  Beechtree is fantastic.

Chip,

Sounds good.  The forecast is a little sketchy, but hopefully it'll work out.

Kalen--let me know how many you have. I can likely play, and it would be nice to see Beechtree one more time.

Sounds good Andy...Just sent an IM off to check on the potentional 4th.  If he can't make it, then we'd be glad to have you aboard.

I played there Friday after Thanksgiving.  We had about an hour frost delay, it appeared as though they havn't been able to mow the greens as often as they'd like with the changing weather conditions, but regardless it was a treat to play the course for my first & last time.  The subleties of the greens were amazing and I can only imagine them at a normal mowing height.

Andy,

Check your IM, your set for Sat if you want the last opening of the 4 some.

I checked the forecast and while it does look to be a bit cold, looks like sunny weather is in store.

If there is any other interest, the 9:40 and 9:50 slots are open so we could move our group back to take those two slots.

Thanks,

Kalen

I posted in the previous Beechtree thread that I was planning on playing it (for the 2nd time in 7 years) Thanksgiving morning.  At a family funeral in Baltimore 2 weeks ago, me, my uncle, and my cousin's husband made the plan to do so.  Last week, we found out that Beechtree was closed on T-Day.   :'(   We had to move it to nearby Mountain Branch (which was better than I was expecting). At least I got to play Beechtree once.  :-\

My cousin's husband (who lives about 5+ minutes from BT) said he planned on playing it one last time this coming weekend, so you guys might cross paths with him there.
