I only know the bonus one..

The old naval station on Alameda island.  Mythbusters run some of thier "experiments" there from time to time.

#4 - That course in Oregon with the hole in the middle of two giant swells.  I know pretty lame guess.

#3 - Looks very familiar, just can't place it.  Is it a hole at Chardonnay in Napa?

I know you all are wrong about #4, but only because Mike told me what this was before he put it up.  But more importantly,

LOS ANGELES DODGERS, NL WEST CHAMPIONS!!!!

Man does not live by golf alone.  And how appropriate that I interrupt a thread started by a Giant fan to make that proclamation.

Was Kalen right about #6?  And do I get extra points for naming the dog?

Is it Beamer the wonderdog?

Aha!  I think I got #5

Coyote Creek - Valley course - #12 - dogleg left shortish par 4, swale in the green.  Very tricky angle in this photo, flattening the swale.

And Kalen, I know you bleed Dodger Blue also.

Dodger Blue?  No way man...after they beat my A's in 88, that was it... >:(

Ok back to the holes.

#2 - Just a wild stab in the dark, based on course conditions (the lack therof), the trees, and that hole which is a bunker I'm guessing its Montclair golf course in Oakland.

#4 - I should know this one...as I'm assuming its in the bay area somewhere.

Kalen,

I have played Oakhurst a few times and don't recognize that hole. However I could be wrong.

Kalen,

I was just guessing...never played it myself.  More trying to identiy the area.  And most of the others in that area I have played.  So some quasi elimination logic there..  ;D

Mike takes photos from interesting angles-I've played the hole over 500 times and didn't get it right away ;D

I thought #3 was at san juan Oaks too. But I thought it the par 3 on the back nine.

Methinks Pieracci has it right re SJO, as misguided as he is re baseball.  Looking at it now, yep, it's the Freddie Couples dogleg right slider par 4, #3.  It's just another VERY weird angle, taken looking back at the green as one exits via path to #4 tee.  Mike is GREAT at disguising holes in this manner.

None of you have come close re #4, and you are gonna bash Benham when you get the right answer.  Again I only know because he told me yesterday off-line.

And I am very proud to get the name of the dog correct, even if I spelled it wrong.

Tom is #4 a NLE?

And how about another hint.  Is it found in the bay area?

It's Benham's game so only he should answer those.  I just figured he wouldn't mind if I told you all none of you were correct yet.

Stettner has #2 correct, it is the 4th hole at Lincoln Park.

Pieracci is correct, San Juan Oaks for #3

Huckaby is also correct for #5, Coyote Creek Valley Course, 12th hole with a wicked swale bisecting the green

As for #4, it is still active, not in California and east of the Rockies …

As for the bonus photo, it is a Hungarian Vizsla (1 pt for David), his name is Beamer the Wonderdog (1 pt for Huckaby) and it is at the decommissioned Naval Air Station Alamada (1 pt for Kalen).

However, there is a golf course connection with the photo …

The golf course connection re #6 is that that is where the long-planned Kyle Phillips course is going to go?
