Tiger in Denver
« on: August 25, 2008, 09:48:18 PM »
So we know our Democrat friend, John "Tiger" Bernhardt, is in Denver representing the great state of Louisiana at the convention.

We're watching the opening speeches and my wife turns to me and says, "So where do you think Tiger played today?"

Great question!  ;D  Whaddya think?

Cherry Hills?
Castle Pines?
Some muni?

Inquiring minds want to know!  ;D

Bill,

If he was smart, and he is, he would have driven to Ballyneal.  ;D

Not if he wanted to hobnob with the Kennedys!

Our local paper noted how both conventions were offering a lot of golf to big donors and I wondered where they might be playing in Denver, and later, in MSP.

I was watching the DNC until I noticed that RuPaul was the guest judge on Project Runway.  That's change I could sink my teeth into.

Ann Curry is looking jet lagged.  I thought she was beautiful in Beijing sporting a latino/asian look in a compelling modern woman montage of sex, sophistication and intellect.

Is there even a debate that architecture and fashion are closely tied together.  Any idea or guesses on what Michelle Obama will be wearing tonight?  I guess it has the fashionistas buzzing: http://newspapertree.com/politics/2774-what-will-michelle-obama-wear-tonight

Don't bother looking for Tiger cause seating is based on the likely hood a state will be delivered for the party.  I would say he is under the mezzanine peeling shrimp as we speak.

LOL - that is not out of the realm of possibility.    A Cajun shrimp boil is a wonderful thing!

Here is the seating chart.  LA did better than what I thought.  http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2008/08/25/us/politics/20080825_SEATING_CHART.html

If he's loyal to the party he's playing John F Kennedy municipal just outside the city.  ;)

I haven't seen him yet, but there are quite a few unfamiliar faces milling about downtown.... Tiger, if you are in the jurisdiction send me an IM and let's see if we can get together.

No place to hobnob with the Kennedys, no place for the sailboat.

Quiz: What other personality is flying into The Centennial State later this week in addition to Barack? (Is the state big enough for both of them?)

I've got a buddy in Vegas this week and he claims Vegas's finest who work in the oldest profession on the planet are nowhere to be found because they have all migrated to Denver for the convention.  ;D  :P

The state is sooooooooooooooo not big enough......... Barack's gonna have to put the pedal to the medal where the rubber meets the road and get the hell out.

I'm doing a 5 month module on American Politics soon so my already strong interest in this campaign is growing, one thing I fail to gather is why the USA needs conventions that are in essence glorified cocktail parties. Would the money not be better spent on a symbolic gesture to “shore up” a candidate’s perceived weakness? Obama give it to an Israel-Palestine conflict resolution scheme and senator McCain could invest his in a care home (Only kidding before someone suggests I’m ageist)
