Belated OT - Pat Perez should take up bowling
« on: July 20, 2008, 10:11:30 AM »
I am still upset by his comments that playing Royal Birkdale on Thursday is not golf for him.

To me, that is the essence of golf.

You play the golf course, as well as the elements.

Can you imagine Brett Favre whining that playing football in a howling wind that knocks the football off the tee - is not football?

Whiny wusses like Pat Perez give the SPORT of golf a bad name.

.....never had a bad day at the office yourself?  I think we need to give the players a bit of room out there, its a little more important than our Sunday nassau.

Last I checked, Pat Perez (like Kenny Perry) is free to skip whatever tournament he wants.  You sound like the whiny one here.

What does Sandly Lyle walking off the course after nine holes do for the game? Same for Rich Beem.

I've watched Pat play around my neck of the woods since before he made it on tour. A tremendous talent (and his brother Mike is actually even longer and possbily more talented). Having said that, knowing what I know and what I've seen, these comments don't surprise me. Pat's biggest enemy is himself. If he ever figures that out, he will be a consistent contender.
