Thanks for all of the replies and suggestions.

After more consideration, we're looking at perhaps driving back from Penticton along the Trans-Canada Highway, up through Kamloops and then through the Rockies to Radium Hot Springs, and then back home through Calgary, Alberta.

Possibilities now include stops at Tobiano and Talking Rock (Kamloops), Greywolf at Panorama and Eagle Ranch (Radium), and Desert Blume (Medicine Hat, Alta).

If I have time next month, I'll try to post some thoughts and a few photos of these courses.

I really liked Greywolf.  I played it some years ago, but recall that for a mountain course, it was no overly constricted.

Salmon Arm G&CC gets lots of good reviews.

Another possibility in southern B.C. is Kokanee Springs Golf Resort.  Nice track with exceptional views of the surrounding mountains, in Crawford Bay.  Their website link is attached.

Will, we golfed Salmon Arm 3 years ago with a local resident and his wife who'd moved out there from our hometown the previous year. They love the climate out there, and the golf courses. We all enjoyed the course. Greywolf at Panorama is a Doug Carrick design (his first in western Canada I believe) and supposedly has out of this world views.

David, we golfed Kokanee Springs 2 years ago. Really liked it. It's a classic type course, interesting use of the land, nicely laid out. A very popular course, consider its remoteness.

Other courses we've golfed in southern B.C. include Balfour (Les Furber), Golden (Furber 9/Bill Newis 9), Copper Point (Gary Browning), Trickle Creek (Furber), St. Eugene Mission (Furber), and Bootleg Gap (Furber).

On the way out to Penticton, we're considering stopping at Cranbrook again and playing the "short" 9 at Bootleg Gap, and/or the 18 at Castlegar.
