I think my favorite is Waffle House in the a.m. and Lookout Mountain in the p.m.

Honors--Lookout might be more fun and less greasy....

Thank you, Dan. That's much appreciated. A Ross-Ross day in Minnesota sounds great....

Only trouble is, I forgot to use an emoticon at a key point in my earlier post. Can you take a guess where?  ;D

I'll guess: One GIGANTIC emoticon superimposed over the entire post.

Am I close?

That's funny, Dan...

So funny I feel like a heel pointing out your use of CAPS...a first-cousin of the exclamation point

Always pushing the boundaries of your self-imposed limits, aren't you Mr. Kelly? Hoping and thinking no one would notice, perhaps?

And how would Jay know he is hungry again after this capping meal?  Answer:  when his mouth stopped burning.

Sunrise at Spyglass, sunset at Pebble

I've been fortunate enough to actually do that.  I have pictures walking down the 18th at Pebble in the sunset and I will post them when time obliges.  There is no greater experience then making the alk down 18 at Pebble in the sunset on a warm sunny day.

As a side not, hitting your opening tee shot amidst the dew at Spyglass is wonderful too...

Huh, hadn't realized or thought about it before your question Jay but the four special sunrise-sunsetters that came to mind all fit the same theme:

1. #2 -> Asheville Muni
2. Ailsa -> Girvan
3. Pebble -> Pac Grove
4. NSW -> Bondi

When Jim Franklin was in Minnesota last summer, he had plans to play Minikahda in the morning. I convinced him to play there, hop in the car and drive 2 1/2 hours at Northland and finish his day there.

I think he'll agree that it was a good double.

The Shoreacres in the morning, Bob O' LInk in the afternoon days that a few on here have experienced are pretty doggone wonderful, sort of the Stairway to Heaven of golf replete with the Rock-and-Roll finish.

But my all-time "2 fer" day remains CPC in the morning, followed by Olympic in the afternoon -- based primarily on the company kept.

I'd think that a Wild Horse/Sand Hills day would be in the same league, but alas, there was an overnight stay in a Motel 6 on that one.

On the dreamy front, I'd imagine you could do a Bethpage Black/NGLA day without too much trouble, too.  That'd be pretty cool.

Personally, I think a forward Jans/reverse Jans day would beat them all... :).

How about Maidstone/NGLA? If I do Bethpage in the am I'm napping all afternoon. :-\

Shivas, you gave me an idea...why didn't I think of it before?  Sunrise at Winged Foot, sunset at Bayonne!

For public players - sunrise at Richter Park, sunset at Centennial (fairways and meadows)...I rather enjoy that combination.

And of course, one of my all time favorites...to be done on the harvest moon in October, when the trees turn all the colors of the rainbow...and this is epic...

Sunrise at Hiawatha Landing, sunset/moonrise at Conklin Players Club!

Hiawatha's Incredible 16th..talk about a line of charm...carry the bunkers and roll all the way down the hill, or play the looooooong way around and have 200 + in:

and the ninth...with a silva (in this case silva mungeum) green monster bunker complex guarding the green of this short but dangerous par-5:

and conklin's 15...where the moon rises over the fairway:

Sunrise at Nth Berwick (West) and sunset at TOC would be a great combination for mine.

The again in summer if one was really keen - they could start at TOC have another round or so and drive upto Royal Dornoch for a late game - now that would be fun  ;D

Done it, but stayed at a Super 8.
