What golf course is this
« on: June 29, 2008, 10:34:06 AM »
Wide fairways, some very, very wide.

Very good green complexes/surrounds

Well bunkered, deep greenside bunkers.

Plenty of wind.

Sporty

Under rated, by far

Tree removal project in recent years.

A "Golden Age" design

Cross a road four times

No returning nine.

Patrick,

Where is NGLA underrated?

You haven't been reading one of those magazines again, have you?  ;D

It's TOC. They cut down a couple of ugly birches over by the hotel recently.

Must be Askernish – but expect you made an error re the trees and road being crossed twice. Also you got it wrong regards wide fairways, having said all that you are close. Good trick question, expect everybody got it wrong.

Next time make it a little bit harder, nearly confused me with those Red Herrings.

So it’s Askernish  Can’t be anywhere else - RIGHT.

Melvyn, it's RJ here,  ;) ;D

It might be Lawsonia, but given Pat's NY to FL centric orientation, I kinda doubt it...  ;D ;D ;D

Mike,

Your first mistake was thinking that TEPaul was correct.

You should know better.

"My error,

Well, why didn't you say that in the first place? I realize it's hard for you to count to four, but really!!

It's Piping Rock and the course crosses a road five times not four, you Crazy Cluck!

TE,

This time I think I got the road count correct.

It's not Piping Rock.

Patrick - thanks. While I believed it fit almost all the criteria, I'd never heard mention of Seminole crossing roads. But I thought you might argue that it did anyway  ;D

So far, no one's named the course.

It sounds like we're being baited to say WFE, so I'll say RME.

Well, I guess you could say that the outward nine at EH returns home.

"Eastward Ho!"

I thought this at first.  However, the Ho! only crosses Fox Hill road twice and it does have a returning nine.
