From what I have read I have a feeling that Tiger's designs will be the kind of Arch that us GCA'ers love.  Walkable, Old School, and unique.  Remember Tiger's favorite course in the world is TOC.  I read where he wants his course in the Cliffs to be walkable.

Tiger says he loves TOC and then in the same sentence will say I love courses that are "all out in front of you" (god, I am tired of hearing people say that) which is anything but the TOC.

My guess would be that they'd go with the Paspalum grass which utilizes salt water. Perhaps a small desalination plant for the potable requirements. At the price per foot, they would likely go with a "most convenient/least risk" solution.

I think it looks awesome. I know its a smaller property, but I would have thought the group on here would have been all giddy that it is a sub-6800 yard course on the ocean!

The best par-3 to me looks like #2. I agree that it is probably downhill toward the ocean...pretty neat. And 18 is a dead ringer for 18 at Pebble.

Basically where they did all the design work and Tiger gets credit. My guess would be them as architect, but I can't offer anything on the builder 'cuz I didn't get the internship

so it sounds like Fazio's design firm had this project locked up with McCombs, and now the project is with Tiger who is now using Fazio's former #1 guy....interesting (rubbing chin now)

 Yeah, I helped out a bit with the finish shaping at Tom's CommonGround GC. It was a life-changing summer. Tom and Beau Welling were my top two internships that I really wanted. Beau worked ten years for Tom Fazio on designs (Waterville reno., Quail Hollow, etc.) but has a background/degree in international finance. His firm has a full-time landscape architect and a golf course associate (Shane Robichaud- built Frederica on Sea Island). Wanted to bring on another land arch. to expand into a land-planning/golf design firm. That was why I was so interested in his firm. I think it got into the process too late to be an intern for them, and they went with guys from their alma maters. Tiger and the releases say he's the lead designer, but it's more subcontracting for a full design from his firm.

I'm still in need of a job, so I might call and see if they are the ones doing it...I don't know for sure if they are, but if they did the first two, why not three. Let's just say I'm 75% they're the ones.

 How do you know Beau? This is exactly why I wish we could view profiles. Forgive me if you're in the industry. All I know is posted above in my response to Chip. I interviewed with them, they told me about the Dubai/High Carolina jobs, and that they were signed on with Tiger. I'm assuming based off of that. Shane, his associate, is supposed to call me today, so I'll ask him. He's getting back from a West Coast trip. I will tell you, Beau is one of the more understated guys I've met. In our interview, I wore a tie- he wore a flannel shirt and jeans. Their firm is the kind of people you want to work for.

Suppose the financial system and economy keep falling.  Will this project get completed? 

Lotsa mega-wealthy people in this country and the world at large; somehow the fat cats always manage to dodge the lean times...

I wonder what Tiger's orders are to his management people, in terms of getting him designs. I'd like to think if I were mega-wealthy, I'd take a different path.
