Former Norman Associates in Australia
« on: May 18, 2008, 08:28:28 PM »
I'm looking for a golf course arhcitect workingon his own based in Australia who previously worked for Greg Norman (and it is not Bob Harrison).  Someone mentioned that they have done some work with this person, but wouldn't tell me who it is.  Does anyone know if there is a former Norman associate now on his own down under?

Thanks

Richard,

Most likely it will be James Wilcher.
His most recent course was The Cut south of Perth.

Thanks.  How do I get in touch with him?  Does he have an e-mail address?

Richard,

I am not sure how to get in touch - we have never met - but there is an architects meeting in Australia next week which he may be attending.
I assume you can google him and find some way to get in contact.

Bob,

I have been there a bit in the last few years. 2 weeks in Scottsdale and then the LA Open was great fun last year.
It was interesting playing with Ogilvy at Talking Stick and listening to him try and convince the pro how good that course really is.
I am not sure when I will be over next - I have a choice between a couple of really good senior tour events in Europe in mid-June (with a Lloyd Cole concert in London the night I fly in) at Conwy in Wales and Ballyliffen in Ireland  or a week at the US Open -  which is really easy to get to from Melbourne.

Mike,

Are they using The Old or Glashedy.  I'd assume Glashedy much is the pity.

I haven't got the strokesaver's oin front of me but what chance a composite course? From memory all the holes are intermingled, shouldn't be too hard to pick and choose.
