you mean who's a self tortured soul, seeking respect in a cruel and dark corner of the world through limited mental bandwidths of endeavor and who seeks physical release through on the job experience.. when just getting away from this self destructive environment would solve many issues?

"Eminem"?

Please define.

Short white guy who wears only jeans and white t's.

Can't say that brings any architects to mind....

Bearing in mind the Eminem lyric "You only get one shot..."

We're presumably looking for someone with a 'my way or the highway' approach as to how his courses are played.

I'll leave the rest of you to name the guilty...

The Eminem of golf architects would be a very talented individual.  His work wouldn't appeal to everyone and might even be offensive or off-putting to some.  Those that "get" his work, though, would be very impressed with him.

I'm going to say Mike Strantz.

Do you have a favorite Eminem song, Mike?

Ditto.....

also of note.....just as with Golf architecture you will note that many of the post on this thread have a pre formed opinion of Eminem w/o even knowing his genius.

Mike, I'll have to read more critics to decide that.  You are correct, I for one don't have any real knowledge of Eminem or what he is about.  I'm afraid I couldn't get past the first impression and noise.  Maybe it is that way for me with Jackson Pollack as well.  ::)

I heard a critic speaking about Emenem once, but I even tuned that out, as he seemed to be making a mountain of a mole hill as to the guys 'intellect'.

I'll plead generational and cultural ignorace or intolerance on this one...

But, since you are posting lyrics that might fit the bill as to response to critics by the artist...  I dig:

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

[instrumental]

Yes, it was my way

Playable.

Who is the Eminem in the business

Are you looking for someone who perhaps enjoyed a brief moment of fame then quickly faded away, never to be heard from again ?
