Live Jupiter, Fl, was  4 handicap, played top 100 US, top 75 World. Great memories, no longer play, 4 back surgeries. I don't miss a lot of things about golf, life is simpler with out it. I miss my 60 degree wedge shots, don't miss nasty weather, icing, back spasms. Last course I played was Augusta

Not on a hole at all, but at the pump station...I'm really into symbolism.....

This is OT, right? Or, is there some chance I'm going to learn from this?

Id take her inside the corregated walls of the third green at Dannebrog Country Club... I'd want her to know something of the hard times before I spoil her and introduce her to the sublime.  If she says yes there, I'd know she could endure the hard times she would be having with a common bumpkin like me... ::) :o :D

On which hole?

You know, I think I did propose marriage on a hole at the Everglades GC in Palm Beach in the middle of the night many years ago. It was on a green and it was pretty dark---or something---so I'm not too sure which hole it was. What was so neat is it all worked out so danged well I was actually able to retract the marriage proposal afterwards and get away with that too!  ;)

i witnessed a marriage proposal at sunset on the 18th green at Pebble a few years ago from the deck in my room in the lodge - he had the ring in the hole and hired a bagpiper, etc - we tried to talk him out of it but she accepted.

There was an article the other day that said that the number one hole for proposals is 17 at TPC. The club rejects hundreds a year

Joe Hancock, this website isn't close to either deserving or worthy of your humor. It's too good.

#1 tee at Castle pines. One of the best views in golf. Or #16 tee late in the afternoon at Friars Head - no better place for a proposal looking at the Sound, in the shadows, looking up a great hole. :D

How funny. I actually did propose last year on Valentine's day on the 12th tee-box at Calusa Pines which is the highest point in SWFL at 60ft. :) Wedding is 6/28/08.
Did you know World Woods has the best burger I've ever had in my entire life? I'm planning a trip back just for another one between rounds.

If you go back into the archives of GCA you may well find a reference to my dining at Greywalls and then getting into the car, driving up the hill, parking and hopping over the fence to the seventh tee at Gullane No.1.

It was an evening with the sun setting in one direction and the moon rising in another. The panoramic scene was like something from  a movie set of Brigadoon. It was magical. Although we had been married for a number of years it was the perfect place to think that this was the ultimate in what should have been.

Thanks for the memory.

I wouldn't propose to any girl on a cliffside golf hole.  That's gotta be one expensive ring she'll throw into the ocean.

I have two suggestions, one of these will be how i seal the deal within 12mths.

-1, 12th green at Augusta during masters week (Impossible i know!)
-2, On the championship tee of the 6th hole at New South Wales while the waves lap against the rocks and we both proceed to make birdies ;D :D how could she possibly say no? ;D

I actually did propose to my girl on the first bluff south of the 4th tee at Torrey Pines South...curse the architecture all you want, but that's one of the most beautiful places in the world to be sitting and worrying like hell that you don't drop the ring over the edge.

Wherever you do it, do not choose the Greenwich Country Club during daylight...

My wife's cousin got married there a few years ago. It was early evening, and the course appeared clear, so the wedding party decided to have pictures taken on the 18th green (which is off the back porch of the clubhouse). They had been there not 30 seconds when a single appeared in the fairway below. Without a second thought, he selected his club, took his line, and fired a mid-iron into to crowd of 20 who were running for their lives...

He duck hooked it into a bush left and walked up the fairway to a roar of boos.

I'll go with the 15th Green at Cape Kidnappers.

I have a pic of myself there, I need to find a good partner.

Some of us have no desire to get married (again.) So for the rest of us, on what hole would you want to be night putting with the fifteen-year-old daughter of the Dean?

I would have voted for around the sixth hole at Hill Country in Morgan Hill. It is a NLE (It was where Fry's Institute now is.) They used to keep their greens very long, and shaggy, making for much more comfortable night putting.

Cheers,
